For Thanksgiving in 2022, a banquet was held for over fifty people for about fifty dollars total. With the donations from Terrapin Farm, which included parsnips, carrots, beets, potatoes, winter squash, herbs, onions, this was made possible. Our students helped to harvest some of the potatoes and carrots that were used. Together we are a community.
Mr. Casazza showed the students how to butcher and skin chickens on a local ranch in Whitefish. The meat went to the high school culinary class, and the students made chicken noodle soup. Learning to process our own food is a critical skill.
We worked with the WHS culinary teacher, Chef Sanders, and learned to make beef sticks out of the steers that we raised.
